Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a FLEX/Intermittent position with the Parris Island Veterinary Treatment Facility. Flexible employees serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
Salary is pro-rated based on a 40 hour work week. Hourly pay is $35.70 - $40.00 .
Work schedule to be determined after hire. No TDY, shift work, or holidays.

Performs professional veterinary work that involves the investigation, examination, treatment, and control of animals. Diagnoses animal health problems; vaccinates against diseases, such as distemper and rabies; medicates animals suffering from infections or illnesses; treats and dresses wounds, seat fractures; performs surgery; and advise owners about animal feeding, behavior, and breeding. Issues health certificates. Performs and interprets laboratory findings. Maintains health records and prepares reports as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
Possess a degree of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree, i.e. Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), obtained at a school or college of veterinary medicine accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA).
Possess a state license to practice veterinary medicine (may be a valid state license from any US state).
Possess a degree of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree, i.e. Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), obtained at a school or college of veterinary medicine accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA).
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
Conditions of Employment:
