Under general supervision, renders pretrial, trial and related investigative research assistance to the attorneys of the Public Defender's Office in various legal matters.
Performs generally semi-routine or diversified duties requiring judgment in the applications of the broader aspects of established practices and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree in law enforcement or related field Three years investigative or legal experience Considerable knowledge of criminal investigative procedures and techniques Considerable knowledge of legal terminology, research techniques and court procedures Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license OPEN UNTIL FILLED SALARY:
$19.
23 hr All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
