Serves as back up to the Clinical Director as needed.
The typical schedule is 3-4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provides flexible coverage throughout the clinic as needed, including patient care, phone triage, chart preparation, patient follow-up calls, reviewing lab results, patient referrals, and medical record requests - Ensures Nursing Policies and Procedures are being followed and takes corrective action if needed or reports it to the Clinical Director - Facilitates in-clinic and telemedicine appointments and supports Volunteer Providers and RNs with the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR), telemedicine service, Cyracom for translation, dictation, e-prescribing, and electronic equipment, and devices - Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures and self-care techniques in person or via telemedicine - Ensure timely provision of orders with appropriate diagnosis codes and timely scheduling of referral services as needed - Ensures quality control of in-house testing, timely documentation of results, and communication of results to providers - Communicates clinic updates and changes to current processes, policies, and procedures to providers and RNs when appropriate - Maintains clinic inventory and communicates with the Clinical Director when supplies are needed - Collaborates on Quality Assurance with the Clinical Director and fosters ongoing quality improvement - Ensures clinic is organized and appropriately sanitized between the change of provider, volunteers, and in-clinic patients in compliance with infectious disease and COVID protocols - Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations including HIPAA and OSHA as appropriate - Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings - Builds working relationships with health professionals with whom we share patients.
- Collaborates with GNFMC Staff to facilitate open lines of communication and cohesive working relationships.
- Recognize opportunities for clinic performance optimization - Seeks professional growth through educational opportunities offered by SCFCA, NAFC, and related professional associations or organizations.
Requirements:
- An Active South Carolina RN license - Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and documentation guidelines - Current Basic Life Support certification - Microsoft Office Experience preferred - Proficient in taking accurate vital signs measurements - Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen collection Employer sponsors 403b plan with employer contribution.
