Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork and Embracing Service Under the supervision of the Lowcountry Region Records Coordinator, performs records management and archiving processes according to the agency's Health Records Management policies and procedures.
Independently performs a variety of advanced duties involved in the operation of the Medical Records Department.
Completes Medical Record Archiving at Lowcountry Community Health Services clinics to include:
Pulling records for clients that have not been seen in 3 years or more based on year tab.
Determine the age of the client, (Adults 18 yrs.
or older.
Minors 8-17 yrs.

Boxes charts for minors and adults separately using appropriate boxes and paper tape.
Researches charts in CARES to verify last appt was 3 or more years ago and the site of the last kept appt.
Verifies there are no other physical charts at other sites.
Verifies that there are no archived charts for each record pulled.
Requests records from State Record Center (SRC) as needed.
Create archive batches in CARES and key boxed records into appropriate batches.
Prepares transmittal sheet for each batch and print labels to be placed on boxes.
Emails transmittal sheets to appropriate staff for processing.
Creates batch folder for clinic record keeping.
Transfer records to other sites as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma.
Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements:
A high school diploma and one (1) year related of clerical office experience or an associate degree in secretarial science or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of office policies, procedures and practices.
considerable knowledge of filing and recordkeeping techniques.
Working knowledge of general administrative service functions.
Working knowledge of the care and operation of standard office equipment.
Ability to collect and assemble information in a clear, concise manner.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying policies.
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Must be flexible and dependable.
May be required to work at any of the 11 counties in the Lowcountry Region.
Standard work hours are Monday - Friday (8:
30 AM - 5:
00 PM).
Must possess a valid SC driver's license.
Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, walk up and down stairs and lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
Use of personal vehicle may be required.
Good time management skills required.
Immunization:
All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
State Disaster Plan:
In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
College Transcripts:

Driving Record:
If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
