Summary:
Under the direction of the Early Childhood Manager has responsibility for the daily oversight of center operations, including assurance of compliance with minimum standards and standards established to assure a high-quality program.
This position also has oversight of facility management and culinary technicians.
PERFORMANCE
Responsibilities:
1.
Oversees education program, in cooperation with the Education Manager and BJEOC staff.
Supervises meal preparation and service.
Monitors the inventory of site materials, supplies, and equipment:
makes purchases for the center, staying within the site budget.
Assures accurate, complete, and confidential maintenance of employee and client records.
Conducts bi-weekly staffing meetings and participates in team meetings.
Assesses current and future facility needs.
Assures that all center-level documentation and reports are complete, up-to-date, and accurate.
Conducts site staff performance evaluations and development plans.
Supervise Family Services Assistants as they organize a Parent Committee and as they authorize a representative for the Policy Council.
Attends meetings and trainings as requested to keep abreast of trends in the various service areas.

Recommended Employment
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or CDA, with two years of experience as a preschool teacher or supervisor.
Experience:
Knowledge or familiarity with Head Start.
Understanding of the current state of the art in early childhood education, child health, mental health, and familiarity with the fields of disabilities services and parent involvement.
Familiarity with community resources.
Knowledge of day care licensing standards as well as standards of other regulatory bodies preferred.
Effective, supportive supervisory skills, including the ability to assist personnel in developing self-direction.
Sound understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice, cultural diversity, and inclusion.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
