This benefited position is established under a Federally funded grant. The Project PILAU Transfer Educational Specialist's primary responsibility will be to provide supportive services to Project PILAU participants to include providing career, academic counseling both individually and in group settings. Duties to include but not limited to:Provide academic advising, guidance and career counseling for PILAU participants who plan to transfer; Track the academic and social progress of the participants; Provide limited career planning and advisement services in the areas of course election, academic development, and personal skills building; Provides transfer information and arranges tours on four year colleges/universities to participants who have an interest in transferring; Design Individual Assessment Profiles (IEP) for all transfer students; Manages and oversees the PILAU mentoring program; Develop relevant workshops for first-year students, i.e. financial literacy. Develop a community outreach program recruiting in high schools and other community organization and businesses. Responsible to the PILAU Director for the weekly submission of progress reports.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Counseling or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience working in a post secondary institution and experience in a business-related field is desired .

Technical College of the Lowcountry is a public two-year technical college with three campuses, which serve four counties in the southern coastal region of South Carolina. The main campus is located in Beaufort in the South Carolina Lowcountry on the coast between the historic cities of Savannah and Charleston and adjacent to the resort area of Hilton Head Island.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
