Job Responsibilities
Determines/re-determines Medicaid eligibility according to Medicaid policies and procedures. Verifies eligibility information provided by client using proper sources. Completes the required forms to render timely and accurate case decisions using appropriate payment category and by using federal and state regulations defined by Medicaid policies and procedures. Collects and accurately prepares case files and client history information and enters data in MEDS according to timelessness schedule indicated by Medicaid policies and procedures. Prepares reports. Provides external customer service to public by answering phones calls, returning phone calls within 24 hours and cleaning voice mail daily. Provides internal customer service by working in harmonious and professional relationships. Performs emergency preparedness/shelter duties as assigned by supervisor. Attends meetings and training sessions. Makes and keeps schedules, completes tasks timely and reports to work timely.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and one (1) year experience in a social services program or a high school diploma and five (5) years' experience with one (1) being in a social services program.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Additional Position Requirements: Occasional overnight travel, driving routinely, sitting or standing for long periods of time and lifting of 20 lbs., overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval and emergency preparedness/shelter duties.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of fact-gathering methods, interviewing techniques and state/federal laws concerning Medicaid policy. Ability to analyze case data and make appropriate decisions. To exercise judgment and discretion in applying/interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures. To coordinate tasks and stay organized. To follow rules and regulations. Must have basic mathematical skills. Open to cultural/demographic diversity and have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
