Job Responsibilities

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Mental Health Center, Beaufort, South Carolina.
Nestled within the low country of South Carolina, the Coastal Empire Mental Health Center in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH), seeks to fill the position of Executive Director. Operating within guidelines set by SCDMH, the Center is governed by a local administrative board and serves the rural counties of Beaufort, Hampton, Jasper, Allendale and Colletion counties.
The Center operates with a staff of approximately 80 and a budget of $6.6m. The Executive Director is responsible for short and long range planning for the direction of professional services and administrative activities. The successful candidate must have a proven track record as an effective senior level manager with demonstrated competence in planning and directing comprehensive community based mental and social treatment services for persons with mental illness.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:
State Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.
Agency Requirements: A master's degree in the social sciences , health sciences, business or public administration and at least five (5) years of senior level managerial experience in mental health service delivery. Clinical knowledge, skills in administrative organization, budgeting/financial operations, and community relations is essential for success in this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advancing technology.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
