GS-08:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
that provided knowledge of law enforcement operations; gathering intelligence; innovative investigative procedures and techniques, and the use of sophisticated police equipment and weapons for detecting, investigating and resolving crimes and other incidents that are beyond the scope or requirements for solution by regular Police Officers such as performing building and high-ground assaults, perimeter security, serving as a member of a building entry team; utilizing security techniques against snipers, resolving high-risk situations, and providing support to criminal investigations by performing surveillance, assistance on drug raids, search warrants, and apprehensions. GS-07:

NOTE:
Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Physical Demands:
The work requires extended periods of physical exertion derived from such activities as running, walking, standing, bending or driving and occasionally lifting, pushing and/or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. Requires stamina, physical agility and dexterity and the strength to pursue, apprehend, or detain. In emergency situations you may be required to push or drag heavy weights of up to 150 pounds or more. You are required to exemplify the physical characteristic of agility in the performance of your duties. USMC regulations require a minimum an annual physical agility test. You will also undergo routine training in defensive tactics, handcuffing and firearms qualifications which require physical agility, dexterity and stamina. Work Environment:
The work is performed in an environment which involves exposure to regular and recurring discomforts such as extreme variations in weather conditions while directing traffic and performing walking patrols. You may be exposed to high levels of noise in certain industrial settings, destructive weather or higher Force Protection conditions. The work involves moderate and high risks and possible endangerment of life or serious injury that requires the exercise of safety precautions and use of protective clothing, gear and devices such as coats, gloves, boots, goggles, masks, shields, etc. You may also be subject to uncomfortable conditions where basic facilities may not be provided or functional. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
